Once upon a time, in a deep, enchanted forest, there lived an angry owl named Oliver. Unlike other owls who thrived on wisdom and serenity, Oliver's heart was filled with bitterness and rage.

Oliver resided in a massive oak tree, considered sacred by all the woodland creatures. This majestic tree stood tall and proud, its branches stretching wide, offering shelter and solace to countless creatures. Deep within its trunk, an ancient energy pulsed, resonating with the life force of the forest.

But the angry owl's presence tainted the tranquility of this cherished tree. Oliver despised the peace it symbolized, viewing it as a threat to his bitter existence. He would hoot with fury, his piercing cries echoing through the night and filling the forest with tension.

The other creatures, fearful of Oliver's volatile nature, kept their distance from the tree. They understood the significance of its life force, but the angry owl's immense anger overshadowed their longing to connect with this mystical energy.

Oliver, lost in his own despair, failed to notice the melancholic beauty that enveloped the forest. He had resigned himself to a solitary existence, disconnected from the intricate web of life that flourished all around him.

One fateful night, as a shimmering full moon rose over the forest, a young squirrel named Mia embarked on a daring quest. She had heard stories of the angry owl and his turbulent relationship with the sacred tree from her wise great-grandmother. Determined to unravel the mystery and bring harmony back to the forest, she set out to find Oliver.

After much searching, Mia discovered the majestic oak tree. Its grandeur left her in awe, and she felt an inexplicable sense of reverence. With caution, she began climbing up the trunk, leaving small offerings of acorns and berries along the way.

As Mia reached the top of the tree, she found Oliver perched on a branch, his eyes filled with sorrow. The young squirrel took a deep breath, summoning all her courage, and gently spoke to the angry owl.

"Oliver, I understand your anger and pain, but this tree represents something much greater than yourself. It carries the spirit of the forest, connecting all living beings and nurturing their souls. Please, let go of your anger and embrace the harmony that resides within."

Oliver, caught off guard by Mia's compassionate words, stared at her intently. He had never encountered such kindness before, and his heart began to soften. Slowly, he opened up about the deep wounds that had shaped his existence.

Mia listened attentively, understanding the owl's anguish. She reassured Oliver that anger was a natural emotion but harboring it for too long would only lead to misery. With each word, she painted a vivid picture of the beauty, love, and unity that thrived in the rest of the forest.

Day by day, Mia returned to the oak tree, spending time with Oliver, sharing her experiences and the joys of the forest. Bit by bit, the angry owl's bitterness faded away, replaced by a newfound appreciation for the interconnectedness of life.

As Oliver's heart softened, the sacred tree responded to his transformation. Its energy pulsed with renewed vigor, emanating a soothing aura that spread throughout the forest. The curious woodland creatures cautiously approached, drawn by the enchanting harmony that permeated the air.

The once-angry owl became a symbol of rebirth and redemption. Oliver no longer hooted in anger but sang with joy, his melodic voice echoing through the treetops. He had finally found peace, not just within himself but within the interconnected web of life he had unknowingly distanced himself from.

The forest flourished like never before, with the sacred tree at its heart, emanating an energy that nurtured and healed all who sought its solace. The animals, once scared and divided, now united under the wisdom and harmony shared by Oliver and Mia.

In the end, this incredible tale reminds us that even the angriest soul can find peace and healing when shown love and understanding. The transformative power of connection and empathy is not limited to fairy tales but dwells within the depths of our own hearts, waiting to be discovered.

He realised that it meant the onset of autumn and he felt sad. But gradually he noticed the fun other birds were having with the crunchy leaves. And so it happened through each passing season that his tree kept changing. Not only did he come to accept it but, he understood the value of the changes. Before he knew it, summer was on the way again.
Angry Owl and His Tree presents the changing of the seasons to young children in a charming manner, accompanied by the most delightful illustrations. This is the third title in Kerryn Ponter’s Angry Owl series.
