James George Scott (Shway Yoe) was British journalist. He travelled to Tongking and wrote the book France and Tongking: A Narrative of the Campaign of 1884 and the Occupation of Further India in September 1884 which was published in 1885.
In the book, he provided to the readers what he observed in the Indo-China, from the gold hunting adventure in the Tongking to the battles between French Colonial Army with the Tongking troops, especially with the Black Flag under leader Liu Jung-Fu.
