I grew up the youngest of five children and like most traditional Greek families I spent years learning the everyday tasks that help make a house into a home. But of all those everyday tasks cooking was always my favorite. I always enjoyed helping my mother cook, even at an early age. I remember that she would put me in a chair by her side with a bowl and a spoon and I would mash away. I enjoyed every aspect of Greek home cooking with my mom. Whether it was learning from her how to pick the freshest fruits and vegetables or how to choose the best meats. My mom taught me that each of us has different tastes. For example I might like more garlic in a recipe and you may prefer less. Feel free to make adjustments that's what I learned to do over time. I have always enjoyed inviting a friend or two over and teaching them how to prepare some of my favorite Greek dishes. We always enjoy cooking together, the love and joy you put into each dish will shine through. My hope in writing this cookbook is to bring to you some of that feeling my mom shared with me through cooking.
