Revival Or The Lazarus Dog: A Miraculous Tale
Once upon a time, in a peaceful countryside village named Greenfield, lived a poor shepherd named John. He had a loyal companion, a dog named Revival. Revival was no ordinary dog; he possessed a unique aura that attracted people and animals alike. With his shimmering silver fur, sparkling blue eyes, and a gentle wagging tail, Revival was loved by everyone in the village.
One sunny day, tragedy struck Greenfield. Revival fell gravely ill, and despite John's best efforts, the dog's condition worsened by the hour. The villagers gathered around, praying for Revival's recovery but fearing the worst. It seemed as if the radiant energy that once surrounded Revival was fading away.
Heartbroken and desperate, John refused to give up on his beloved companion. He had heard rumors of a mystical hermit who possessed healing powers and lived in a hidden cave deep in the nearby forest. With no other alternatives, John decided to take Revival to this reclusive figure, hoping for a miracle.

In Search of the Hermit's Cave
The forest was dense and untamed, with tall trees blocking out the sunlight. It was said that only those destined to find the hermit's cave would succeed. John followed his instincts, guided by an invisible force that seemed to lead him deeper into the wilderness.
After hours of walking, John stumbled upon a narrow path that he had not noticed before. It felt as if the path had appeared just for him. John felt a renewed sense of hope, following it fervently until he reached a small clearing. In the middle of the clearing stood a modest wooden cabin, the hermit's abode.
The Miracle of Lazarus
The hermit, known as Lazarus, greeted John at the door. His vibrant blue eyes shimmered with wisdom and kindness. Without uttering a word, Lazarus motioned for John to bring Revival inside the cabin.
Inside, the cabin was filled with a calming aura. A soft, eerie light illuminated the room as Lazarus laid his hands on Revival, whispering ancient chants that only he seemed to understand. Time seemed to stand still as the healing ritual continued.
After what felt like an eternity, John witnessed an astounding transformation. Revival's shallow breathing grew steady, his fur regained its shine, and his eyes sparkled brighter than ever before. The villagers' prayers had been answered – Revival was alive and well!
A New Life Begins
Overwhelmed with joy and gratitude, John thanked Lazarus profusely. The hermit smiled warmly and explained that Revival's revival was his destiny. He had been blessed with a special gift to heal those who were destined to live. His powers, however, extended only to those who possessed a pure and innocent soul, like Revival.
John returned to Greenfield, accompanied by Revival, and shared the miraculous tale with the villagers. Amazement and awe filled their hearts as they witnessed the Lazarus dog, a symbol of hope and new beginnings.
Revival's Legacy
Word of Revival's remarkable resurrection spread far and wide, attracting people from distant lands seeking Lazarus' enchanting powers. Greenfield became a sanctuary for those in need, while Revival roamed the village, spreading love, healing, and joy to anyone who crossed his path.
As years passed, the legend of Revival, the Lazarus dog, became immortalized in folklore and literature. Songs were sung, books were written, and paintings were created, each highlighting the miraculous bond between a shepherd and his loyal companion.
And so, the tale of Revival and Lazarus lives on, reminding us that miracles can happen even in the bleakest of times. It teaches us to never give up hope, for sometimes, the love we hold for someone can ignite a spark of divine intervention.

SHORT STORY - 4700 words - When Joey's dog Max eats poison and dies, Joey searches for enough faith and prayer to ask God to raise Max from the dead, believing God will do that very thing if he believes enough. Joey is an orphan who lives with his grandparents on their farm. His grandfather hasn't spoken in years. The story examines levels of faith, from believing with outward evidence, to no evidence, to the highest level, believing with evidence to the contrary. The adults in this tale, even a minister friend, have lower levels of faith, while Joey finds the highest level, likening Max to the Biblical tale of Lazarus.
