The Enigmatic Footprints

One of the most captivating aspects of Texas tracks is the myriad of mysterious footprints scattered across its terrain. Decoding Ancient Hieroglyphs

Traveling further back in time, we delve into the enigmatic world of ancient hieroglyphs and petroglyphs. These ancient codes, etched onto rock surfaces by Native American tribes and early settlers, hold immense historical and cultural significance. By deciphering these symbols, researchers are able to unravel the thoughts, beliefs, and stories of those who settled in Texas centuries ago.

The Spanish Conquistadors' Legacy

Texas tracks and artifacts also offer a window into the era of Spanish colonization. Deep in the chaparral, hidden relics from the Spanish conquistadors are waiting to be discovered. From rusty armor remnants to artifacts of daily life, these items provide a glimpse into the lives of the explorers who ventured into the unknown territories of Texas in search of treasures and conquest.

The Forgotten Ghost Towns

Texas tracks and artifacts are not limited to ancient history. Abandoned ghost towns speckle the Texan landscape, each with its own story waiting to be unearthed. Crumbling structures, remnants of a bygone era, serve as a haunting reminder of once-thriving communities. Exploring these ghost towns provides a unique perspective on the hardships and triumphs of the people who forged a life on the Texas frontier.

Artistic Marvels in the Lone Star State

While exploring Texas tracks and artifacts, it is impossible to ignore the artistic marvels that adorn the state. From stunning murals on building walls to sculptures that capture the essence of Texas, the artistic expressions found throughout the Lone Star State are as diverse as the people who inhabit it. Each piece of art tells its own story, adding a dynamic layer to Texas' cultural tapestry.

As we conclude our journey through the tracks and artifacts of Texas, we are left with a sense of wonder and awe. The Lone Star State's rich history and diverse cultural heritage are beautifully showcased through these remnants of the past. Exploring Texas tracks and artifacts not only unravels fascinating mysteries but also honors the people and creatures that shaped the state we know today.

Ever since Roland T. Bird, curator of the New York Museum of Natural History, visited the Paluxy River near Glen Rose, Texas back in 1928 and took out dinosaur tracks to ship back to his museum, the tracks of the Paluxy have been shrouded in mystery and controversy. The dinosaur tracks were promptly put on display, but little known is the fact that he also took out some non-dinosaurian tracks that landed in the basement of the New York museum never to see the light of day. Why? From the evolutionary viewpoint of the museum, these tracks looked too much like human footprints to be shown to the public. Thus, the quest began to unravel and investigate the mystery tracks of the Paluxy. Many, many people, some credentialed, some not, have spent hundreds and hundreds of hours digging in the limestone rocks for human tracks like those in the basement of the New York museum. This writer joined the fray back in 1982 and vigorously pursued the perfect human track yearly and sometimes twice yearly ever since. You will have to read this book to find out how successful his pursuit has been.
