This bundle of poems comes from when I was disfellowshipped from the Jehovah's Witness organization for the first time in 2005.

I was just 20 and had been a baptized member for 4 years, the excommunication really impacted me leaving a wound that never quite heals.

I endured eating meals separate from my mother and siblings, and spent many many meetings brewing because I could NOT understand how someone outside of me could establish if I was repentant, sorry or sad over my own actions. I stopped wearing colorful clothes and never quite recovered from feeling like I didn’t deserve jack, let alone to be part of “God’s Chosen Nation”.

This subject is wide and deep, especially for multigenerational born-in JW's. I see it all the time on forums. For now, I’m sharing this collection of poems inspired during that time.

I recommend checking out my book when it's out as I will discuss ways I have found healing, restoration and joy for myself after living through shunning in "the truth".
