After a few pleasantries, I grinned, looked him in the eye, and said, “My, Johanssen, can I see your spanking strap?”

He started, because he didn’t think any of the kids knew he had it. Then he eased up, and asked, “What makes you think I’ve got a strap?”

I shrugged, “I’m clairvoyant - no kidding. I know where you keep it. Want me to go get it?” Well, he dismissed my claim to be clairvoyant, but couldn’t figure out how I knew.

But he grinned back at me, and replied, “Sure - I’ll show it to you.” And he got up and walked back to the bedroom where he’d had it put away. He cracked it through the air a couple of times, then swatted the edge of the bed with it.

Then he looked at me quizzically and challenged, “Do you want to try it out?”

So I leveled with him and replied, “Look, Mr. Johanssen, I got strapped several times while I was in America - so I’m kind of used to getting it. Eric’s cousins aren’t, of course, since none of them has ever gotten the strap. So I thought maybe you’d like to practice on me, before you light in on the others.”

He hesitated a moment, to make sure I was really serious. Then he said, “OK, you were supposed to get it again tomorrow, anyway. Why don’t we do it tomorrow - just you, me, and Eric. Sound Good?”

I’d hoped he’d strap me right then - but I had to settle for his promise that he’d give me a strapping “tomorrow.” So I “hung out” with him and Eric a little longer, then he bought us lunch at one of our favorite places (and in Copenhagen, I really do know where all the good places are, even without my “powers”); and after that, he took me home.

During lunch, he hadn’t mentioned spanking of strapping at all, although I’m sure he was thinking about it, just like I was. But when I went to get out of his SUV, he slapped me sharply across the tail, and teased, “Se dig i morgen! (See you tomorrow!)”, and winked at me. Of course, I knew he was a “spanko” like the rest of us - but it gave me a rush or adrenalin. I guess I’d been missing Bob’s strappings more than I realized.

Twelve year old Billy Martin has been suddenly uprooted from the only home he knows, in liberal Stockholm, and sent to live with his eighteen year old brother, Bob, who has recently joined an ultra-conservative religious group in Idaho.Billy, a high-spirited youth, has been allowed to run at loose ends for his entire life, and has never experienced discipline of any kind. He now finds himself in a vastly different world. Bob immediately sets about bringing his kid brother into line, and giving him the “Biblical discipline” that he, and the other sect members, consider essential to proper child rearing. Billy strives to come to grips with the new reality.

While the characters are wholly imaginary, the issues they confront are real, and threaten to undermine the very foundations of our civilization. This work does not contain any erotic material, but is a sobering assessment of today’s child rearing practices in the United States and Western Europe.

This is the twelfth volume of a more extensive saga, which traces the course of Billy and his friends as they struggle through the years of adolescence. It should be required reading for every adolescent boy, his parents, and all those who seek to influence him.
